AirBridge Cargo (ABC) is the first Russian all-cargo airline to operate scheduled services in Europe, Russia and Asia � and soon in North and South America. AirBridge Cargo was launched in 2003 by Volga-Dnepr Group and commenced operations in May 2004 using Boeing 747 freighter aicraft to serve markets between Europe and Asia via Russia. In November 2006 AirBridge Cargo was awarded an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) by the Russian Government and in January 2007 became a member of Cargo 2000.

Atlas Air is a global cargo airline based in metro New York, near JFK Airport. It operates scheduled freight service for many of the world's airlines, flying to 101 cities in 46 countries. It has bases in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Anchorage and London-Stanstead. It currently operates an all-Boeing 747 fleet of 27 aircraft. The airline was named after the famous greek god, Atlas, who supposedly carried the world on his shoulders. Their symbol on the plane's tail is a gold man carrying a gold world.

Cathay Pacific Airways has ordered 10 Boeing 747-8 Freighters, becoming the eighth airline to order the 747-8 Freighter. The new freighters will augment the airline's fleet of 19 747 Freighters used to connect Hong Kong to a wide range of international markets.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Dubai Aeropspace Enterprise (DAE) concluded all contractual obligations for the purchase of 100 airplanes valued at $10.9 billion at average list prices. DAE, a global aerospace, manufacturing and services corporation, has purchased 70 737s, 15 787s, 10 777-300ERs and five 747-8 Freighters.

Emirates Sky Cargo

Emirates finalized an order for 10 747-8 Freighters during an official ceremony held at Dubai's Department of Civil Aviation. The ceremonial signing was made by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Emirates chairman and CEO, and Boeing's Dubai-based sales director, Ken Schulz.
"Dubai has seen tremendous growth in the opportunities to provide our customers across the globe custom-tailored freight solutions,� Sheikh Ahmed explained. �Moreover, developing this side of our business is elemental to Emirates maintaining a leading position amongst the world's airlines and we will take full advantage of the extended capacity these new Boeing freighters offer.�

Guggenheim Aviation Partners, LLC (GAP), the U.S.-based aviation investment firm, acting on behalf of one of its investment funds, has ordered four 747-8 Freighters.
Investment funds managed by GAP currently own a fleet of 30 Boeing aircraft, including a fleet of seven 747-400s that will be modified through the Boeing Converted Freighter program. In addition to those airplanes, the funds ordered six 747-400ER (Extended Range) Freighters in July 2005.
